Demerara Distillers

Formed in 1983 from the merger of two Guyanese companies and operating the Diamond distillery on the East Bank of the Demerara. As the country's sugar estates closed their stills were gathered here, so one plant still runs the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, the Versailles single wooden pot still, the EHP wooden Coffey still and a four-column French Savalle. It is the only rum producer on this list that states plainly that the number on its bottles is the age of the youngest rum in the blend.
