A joint venture between Pernod Ricard and the Cuban state corporation Cuba Ron, which is what the 1993 marks; the producer publishes no earlier brand history. Molasses from several Cuban regions is distilled into aguardiente and aged at the San José distillery in ex-bourbon barrels bought from Ireland and Scotland. Blending is directed by the Maestros del Ron Cubano.
